Simone Faggioli , at the wheel of his NP01 , won the 2025 Pikes Peak on Sunday 22 June , taking both the "Unlimited" class victory and the overall victory.
He is the first Italian to have managed to win this historic competition, now in its one hundred and third edition, leaving behind the official Ford of Romain Dumas .
The Tuscan driver stopped the clock at 3'37"196, a full 5 seconds ahead of the Frenchman at the wheel of the electric Super Mustang Mach-E prototype who, after last year's triumph (Faggioli had finished second), had to settle for victory in the "Open" class.
With this triumph on American soil, Faggioli completed his prestigious list of honours : 11 European and 11 national titles won in the Hill Climb Championship.
Pikes Peak is called 'Race To The Clouds' because it is a hill climb time trial 4,300 meters along the mountain range of the same name in the state of Colorado (USA). The race starts from 2,862 m above sea level , and extends for a total distance of 19.99 km , characterized by 156 curves and challenging hairpin bends , for a difference in altitude of 1,439 m , with an average gradient of 7% and maximum peaks of 10.5%. The finish line is at an altitude of 4,300 m, where the rarefaction of oxygen makes everything even more difficult, both from a physical and technical point of view.
